Rare 15" Brown Eyed China Head Circa 1880s

This is a beautiful 15" high brow brown eyed china head. Her cheeks are lightly but evenly brushed giving her a regal look. Her body is made of cotton muslin and she is firmly stuffed with what feels like kapok. Her arms are made of leather with individually stitched fingers. I did not undress her because the dress is so fragile.
She wears antique cotton pantaloons that look as if they were made just for her with a matching full petticoat. Her antique thin wool dress is turkey red with thin black velvet trim. Her socks are vintage and her shoes are very early. I hesitate to call any doll "all original" but it would not surprise me if this doll is.

Condition: Her shoulder head is without any chips, cracks or repairs of any kind. Her body does not leak. I did not see any stains. Her arms are fragile. Her dress does have a few small holes and wear in back. The back of her hair does have some scuff marks. Please see pictures. She also has three small pepper spots on her forehead and a few on her chin and neck. Please see picture. Actually they give her character.

I absolutely love this doll and am listing her with mixed emotions. I don't think you will find another doll like this in a long time. I do hope she goes to a collector who will enjoy her and love her as I do.
As with all of my items she comes from a smoke free home.
