Early Unmarked Kestner Child Doll

This sweet early unmarked child doll is an early Kestner doll circa 1880. She measures just 20" tall. What a great cabinet size!

She is on a composition ball jointed body. There is a red mark on her back but totally unreadable. She has a blonde mohair wig with heavy feathered eyebrows, finely painted lashes and an open mouth with a high bow on the top lip with upturned ends. She has a wonderful smooth face with a light flesh color and nicely colored cheeks. She does remind me of the French dolls that Kestner was trying to copy at the time.

She is dressed in vintage pantaloons, petticoat and socks. Her thin cotton drop waist dress is made from older material but vintage. Her shoes and bonnet are new.

Condition: Great! Her body does have some wear. Please see pictures. It's well within normal given her age. She does not have any crazing. Her bisque is without any chips, cracks or repairs of any kind. She does have a slight nose rub. Please see pictures. She does not have her original pate. You will notice a white line on the back of her head. I believe this was done when her original pate was taken off. It looks like a slice from a knife. It does not damage the bisque in any way.

As with all of my items she comes from a smoke free home. Non US buyers please e-mail for shipping cost.
