18" Kestner Child Doll Circa 1890s

This 18" Kestner child doll is one of Kestner's most sought after mold numbers.
She is number 167. To look at her you would think she is a character child. She does by far have one of the sweetest Kestner faces.
She has open close blue eyes, painted lower lashes with feathered eyebrows. Her mouth is open showing her teeth. Her lips are two tone coral and outlined beautifully. Her complexion is a perfect peach color helping to bring out her beautifully blushed cheeks. Her composition body is all original with wonderful original patina. It is stamped Germany in a square with the number 2. Her face has the most beautiful molding I have seen! Her eyebrows are molded out as well as her upper eyelids.  The exquisite molding on her face is what gives her that wonderfully soulful look.
Her dress is a very vintage cotton school girl dress. It closes in back with 3 buttons. She has pin tucks at the bodice along with inset cotton lace. Under her dress is her antique half petticoat. It is made of cotton muslin with open cut work it closes in back with a button.  Under her petticoat is a one piece chemise with pantaloons. Those alone on her look absolutely wonderful! I love them! She is wearing antique socks with antique Kestner shoes. Her antique human hair wig is one of the best I have seen in some time. The way it was braided is simply fantastic. She does have her plaster pate.

Condition: Her bisque is perfect without any cracks, chips or repairs of any kind. The only issue I can find is that she does have two wig pulls (with her wig on you do not see them). She has slight wear to her finger tips.

She is simply wonderful and I really hate to see her go. I think she is one of the most wonderful Kestner's  I've seen in some time. Don't miss out on this one!  Don't you deserve just one more doll?
