Sammy Kestner Character Baby

This sweet 14" Kestner Character baby "Sammy" is one of the most popular babies made. She looks as if her face was molded from a real baby! She has beautiful brown sleep eyes, feathered brows and lashes with an open mouth showing her teeth. Her bisque is a soft creamy color with softly tinted cheeks. Her molding is fantastic! She has excellent modeling through the temples with indentations beside the outer corner of each eye. Her mouth is well defined with extra creases at the sides and under her lower lip as well as a well defined philtrum. Her beautiful blonde mohair wig is full and attached to her original plaster pate.  She is incised with "Made In Germany/211/JDK".  

Her five piece bent limb composition Kestner baby body is in excellent condition. She has a wonderful rosy patina giving her body a natural baby look. You can see by the pictures how sweet she looks with little chubby creases around her arms and legs.

She is dressed in an antique cotton romper with a matching bonnet trimmed in pink.  Her cream sweater is hand made and closes with a pink ribbon.

Condition:  Excellent. Her bisque head is without any cracks, hairlines or repairs of any kind. Her body has a wonderful patina with slight wearing at her fingers.
