30" Schoenau & Hoffmeister Child Character Doll

This 30" child character doll was made by Schoenau & Hoffmeister and carries the S(PB in star)H mark. Her mold number is 914 making her a character doll.

My girl has a wonderful composition body. She is ball jointed. She retains her original "Made In Germany" stamp. She has wonderful original patina.

Her bisque head has open close brown eyes. Her eyebrows are feather painted with painted upper and lower lashes. Her mouth is open showing her teeth. Her lips are full and wonderfully molded. I believe her to be one of the first out of the mold. Her markings are very deep and clear. The molding above her eyes is very well done as well as around her mouth. You can see this very clearly in her pictures.  Her wig is mohair with sausage curls. The color matches her eyebrows perfectly. It could possibly be her original wig.

She is wearing vintage home made clothing. She has on cotton pantaloons and half slip with the lace matching the lace on her peach cotton dress. Her dress closes in back with 3 snaps. I'm sure her outfit was made just for her given the great fit. Her bonnet is violet with peach and cream feathers. Her shoes are vintage as are her socks.

Condition: My child is not without her problems. Before we go any further I do want you to understand she was born this way. Someone in the factory was either just learning or was just burned out. Please look at the close up of her face. She has a finger indent on her left side. The thumb print gave her a very, very tight hairline. Because the hairline is so tight and clean I did reinforce it from the inside. On her forehead are bumps. You can see these in her picture. Again, this was done while being made. Her two holes on the side of her head are not round but more crudely made. Again this was done during her making. I believe I did mention all of her flaws. I have washed her face in acetone to make sure that these flaws were not man made and just repainted. They were done when she came from the factory.

Now is your chance to get a great doll at a very reasonable price.  Please take a second look at her before you decide she has to many problems.
