30"  C.M. Bergmann Child Doll

This 30" C.M. Bergmann doll has been a part of my family for a long time. I'm currently trying to down size my collection and my bigger dolls have to go.

As I mentioned above, she is 30" tall. She has a wonderful wood ball jointed body. Her bisque head is deeply inscribed with CM Bergmann/Waltershausen/Germany/1916/12. She must have been one of the first out of the mold. She has brown sleep eyes with finely painted brows and lashes. Her coral lips are open showing her teeth. She has a peaches and cream smooth complexion. Her brows are nicely molded as is her upper lid. She has a sweet dimple in her chin giving her a child like appearance.  Her mohair wig could possibly be her original wig. When I was checking her was the first time I had it off. She wears a beautiful antique lace party dress with antique full petticoat, pantalets, socks and high button shoes. Her early straw bonnet is trimmed in blue velvet with mesh lining.

Condition: As much as I love her she does have a problem or two. It wasn't until I took her picture that I saw the small eye flake on her right lower eye. Please see picture. Her body has been repainted, but she does have a nice patina. A few of her fingers have been replaced. She also has two different thighs. What a surprise that was to me! I never noticed before. With her dress on you don't see them so I guess I forgot about them.

All of the above problems I mentioned really does not take away from her. She is still a sweet doll and would love to make someone as happy as she has made me. I have listed her under the bargain section simply because she is a priced to sell.

As with all of my items she comes from a smoke free home.
